Bursa Metropolitan Municipality continues its works on the 'Bursa Environmental Plan of 2040', which is the new constitution of the city, with the understanding of common mind and transparent participation. Bringing together all the dynamics of the city, from district municipalities to non-governmental organizations, the Metropolitan Municipality plans to finalize the works by gathering the opinions and demands of the broad segment of the society.

The Metropolitan Municipality, which carries out projects to carry Bursa to the future in a healthier and stronger way, continues its works on the 'Bursa Environmental Plan of 2040', which is the new constitution of the city, without interruption. The Metropolitan Municipality, which attaches great importance to the common sense and transparent management of Bursa, is taking the necessary steps to prepare the Environmental Plan in the same direction. The evaluation meeting, attended by all stakeholders in Bursa, from non-governmental organizations to public institutions, from academic chambers to district municipalities, was held at Atatürk Congress Culture Center Hüdavendigar Hall with the theme of 'Bursa that Lives, Lives, Produces, and Reaches'.

After briefing Feridun Tarım, Head of the Department of Zoning and Urbanization, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Ulaş Akhan said that they are planning to finalize the Environmental Plan, which has been discussed since 2011 and started again in 2020, with a wide participation and by taking everyone's opinions. Thanking the district municipalities, Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, academic chambers, universities and public institutions for their support, Akhan said, “When the work is completed, a plan will emerge that meets everyone's concerns, hesitations and expectations about the city. There will be a plan that will affect not only Bursa but also Turkey. We are in a city that produces significant added value in many areas such as Turkey's industry, employment, agriculture and tourism. The plan prepared in this regard is also very valuable for our country. Bursa has the capacity to overcome the difficulties in front of it with its human capital and the manpower it has trained. We came together as representatives of human capital. Thank you for your support,” he said.

Deputy Secretary General Gülten Kapıcıoğlu explained that the Spatial Planning and Strategy Office (MEPS) was established within the scope of the '2040 Bursa Environmental Plan' and the process was carried out from here. Kapicioglu stated that important information 'related to sectoral issues' was collected at the evaluation meeting, and thanked all institutions that contributed to the studies.

After the speeches, the workshop continued under the moderation of City Planner Faruk Göksu.
