President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Batman Hasankeyf Tunnel and connection roads opening ceremony with a live connection. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said, “With our new investment of 910 million liras, Üçyol Strait, located between Hasankeyf and Gercüş districts, is getting a safe passage.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu spoke at the opening ceremony of Batman Hasankeyf Tunnel and connection roads; “By taking our Vision of the Century of Turkey as our guide, we continue to take the steps to meet the needs of tomorrow in the most accurate way in 81 provinces of our country. With the start of the water retention activities at the Ilısu Dam, which will contribute significantly to the energy and irrigation needs of our country, we are gradually completing the new 40-kilometer road route that provides access to Hasankeyf, which has been moved to its new location.”
638 METERS DOUBLE TUBE HASANKEYF TUNNEL; 2 KM LENGTH WITH CONNECTION ROADS
Reminding that approximately 30 kilometers of the aforementioned road was presented to the service of the nation as a divided road, Karaismailoğlu reminded that the Hasankeyf-1 and Hasankeyf-2 bridges on the route were inaugurated. Noting that the Hasankeyf Tunnel and its connection roads have been brought into the service of the nation on the Batman-Hasankeyf route today, Karaismailoğlu said, “With our new investment, the project cost of which is 910 million TL, the Üçyol Strait, located between Hasankeyf and Gercüş districts, is getting a safe passage. Our 638-meter double tube Hasankeyf Tunnel; It is 2 kilometers long with connection roads. Once the entire route in question is put into service, high standard, fast and comfortable transportation will be provided to Batman, Mardin and the border gates.
WE INCREASED THE LENGTH OF THE SPLIT ROAD TO 28 KILOMETER
Emphasizing that under the leadership of President Erdogan, they have accomplished what could be done in 20 years in Turkey in 100 years, Karaismailoğlu said that the 6-kilometer divided highway length has been increased to 100 kilometers, and the construction work on the 28-kilometer divided road construction continues rapidly. Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport, said, “We crossed the Yalçın mountains with tunnels and the deep valleys with viaducts. We have increased the 793-kilometer tunnel length to 3 kilometers, by more than 688 times, and currently, our construction work continues rapidly on the 50-kilometer tunnel construction. As the Ministry, we continue our activities with the principle of 'stop is the way, keep going' for many successes with our nearly 13 thousand construction sites and close to 663 thousand colleagues throughout Turkey. In line with the 456 Transport and Logistics Master Plan, we continue with our investments in 5 provinces with the motivation of the first day, in a planned manner.
