Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu emphasized that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Highway Master Plan was revised considering the evolving needs as per the protocol signed between the governments, and they improved all roads throughout the TRNC. Güzelyurt - Lefke Road, Balalan - Yenierenköy Road and other roads with a length of 90 kilometers are also giant investments realized in this context.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu spoke at the collective opening ceremony of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus; “We continue our transportation investments, which is one of the leading sectors, in order to make the development in the economy of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus permanent. It is our common goal to turn the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus into a center of attraction in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Republic of Turkey has always prioritized doing its part to ensure the peace, welfare, development and security of the Turkish Cypriots and to protect their law. All of our investments and projects realized in this blessed land watered with the blood of martyrs are the best examples of this.”

WE PROVIDED UNINTERRUPTED DIVERSE ROAD INTEGRITY FROM THE EAST TO THE WEST OF THE TRNC

In line with the Highway Master Plan; Karaismailoğlu stated that a total of 19 kilometers of Bituminous Hot Mixture (BSK) paved main road was built, 181 kilometers of divided roads, 20 different sections of roads, 421 kilometers of single roads, and that it was opened to traffic and offered to the service of the people of Cyprus. ; The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Highway Master Plan was revised, taking into account the evolving needs. Work began quickly. We opened; Güzelyurt - Lefke Road, Balalan - Yenierenköy Road and other roads with a length of 602 kilometers are our giant investments realized in this context. The only existing road connecting Lefke, which is located in the westernmost part of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, to Güzelyurt, has been turned into a divided highway with a length of 90 kilometers. We shortened the route, through which 17,2 thousand vehicles pass daily, by 10 kilometers, reducing the travel time between Güzelyurt and Lefke from 1,5 minutes to 21 minutes. With the completion of the road, the integrity of the uninterrupted divided road stretching from the easternmost to the westernmost part of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was ensured. With the Güzelyurt-Lefke Road, a total of 11 million TL will be saved annually, 29,6 million TL from time and 6,7 million TL from fuel.

NORTH COAST ROAD COMPLETED

Noting that the Balalan – Yenierenköy Road, which is the continuation of the Northern Coastal Road, was built with a total length of 15,8 kilometers, with a bituminous hot mixture coating, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said that with the project, Kyrenia's direct connection to the Karpaz Peninsula will be provided and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus He said that the north coast road of ' was completed. Underlining that they shortened the existing road by 3 kilometers with the Balalan – Yenierenköy Road and reduced the travel time from 18 minutes to 8 minutes, Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“With this road, a total of 19,4 million TL will be saved annually, 4,9 million TL from time and 24,3 million TL from fuel. We are also improving all roads across Cyprus. 1651rd class roads constitute 1079 kilometers of the total road network of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with a length of 3 kilometers. At the first stage, we aimed to improve road comfort and driving safety by improving a total of 26 kilometers of road on 322 road sections that were in need of repair. With our work; We completed 90 kilometers of road in total and opened it to traffic. Road construction works in 8 different sections continue. Our activities continue in 5 different sections. Our goal by the end of the year is to complete another 10-kilometer section.”

Pointing out that Cyprus is at the heart of the Eastern Mediterranean with its geographical location, strategic and geopolitical importance, Karaismailoğlu said, “Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we aim to increase the efficiency and quality of public institutions' services and facilitate the transition of the digital transformation ecosystem to life in sister countries as in our country. We continue our work. We also share the experience we gained in the digital Turkey journey with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Thanks to the effective and efficient resource management that will be provided by digitalization in public services, savings will be achieved from time, space, personnel and budget. Digital services of public institutions and organizations for citizens, other public institutions and businesses will be offered through the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus e-Government Gateway. Again in this direction; The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Data Center Project has been designed in order to meet the information technology service provision infrastructure needs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus public institutions/organizations 7/24 in an uninterrupted, secure and effective manner. The opening of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Public Data Center has also gone down in history as a very important step in the digitalization process of the TRNC. We will continue our determined stance, support and work so that Turkish Cypriots look to the future with confidence.”

Emphasizing that Trabzon flight is requested especially when they come to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Karaismailoğlu gave the good news that Ercan Airport-Trabzon flights will start in December.
