Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Djemevi Presidency Established

The Presidential Decree on the establishment of the “Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi Presidency” within the body of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was published in the Official Gazette.

According to the Presidential Decree on Amending Some Presidential Decrees signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, “research of Alevi-Bektashi culture and conducting business and operations related to cemevis” was added to the duties and authorities of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

While the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi Presidency was established within the Ministry, its duties and powers were listed as follows:

“To carry out studies to determine the cemevis and their needs, to coordinate the effective and efficient execution of the services in cemevis. To carry out the works and transactions regarding the transfer of funds to local governments or investment monitoring and coordination departments in order to provide the services determined by the Presidency of cemevis. To carry out scientific research on Alevi-Bektashism in all its aspects, within the integrity of social and human sciences, and to organize seminars, symposiums, conferences and similar national and international events on these issues. To prepare suitable environments for the production of original knowledge, to make publications and to support studies in this field. To cooperate with universities and related institutions and organizations in order to support academic activities related to Alevi-Bektashism. To research and compile Alevi-Bektashism with its scientific aspect in the country and abroad and to support the studies carried out for this purpose. To follow up the scientific studies and publications of national and international institutions and organizations within the scope of its duty, to have the necessary ones translated and published. To carry out and support educational and cultural activities related to Alevi-Bektashism. To perform other duties assigned by the Minister.”

An Advisory Board consisting of the President and 11 members will be established.

An Advisory Board will be established to evaluate the work of the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Djemevi Presidency and to inform the Presidency of its suggestions.

The Advisory Board will consist of the chairman and 11 members. The President of the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Djemevi will also be the chairman of the Advisory Board. The members of the Advisory Board will be elected by the President for a period of 3 years from those who have distinguished themselves on the Alevi-Bektashism path and those who have research and work on the subjects falling within the scope of the Presidency. The Minister may preside over the Advisory Board when he deems it necessary.

The transportation and accommodation expenses of the members of the Advisory Board and the people invited to the meeting will be covered from the Ministry's budget. The working procedures and principles of the Advisory Board will be determined by the regulation issued by the Ministry.

The President of the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi and the Vice-President of the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi will be equivalent to the head of strategy development and the deputy general director of the ministry, respectively, in accordance with the additional article 375 of the Decree Law No. 30 in terms of financial and social rights and benefits and other personal rights. .

53 cadres were created for the presidency

President (1), vice-chairman (2), head of department (5), data preparation and control operator (30), programmer (2), analyzer (2), secretary (1) for the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi Presidency by decree. 1 cadres were created, consisting of the titles of driver (2), servant (2), translator (2), sociologist (2), psychologist (1) and graphic designer (53).

Contracted title and qualifications to be employed by the Presidency

With the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, the principles regarding the employment of contracted personnel in the Presidency of Alevi-Bektaşi Culture and Cemevi, position titles and minimum qualifications were also determined.

Accordingly, contracted personnel under the titles of "Alevi-Bektashi Djemevi Leader" and "Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Djemevi Specialist" can be employed in accordance with the procedures and principles to be determined by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The leader of the Alevi-Bektashi Djemevi must have distinguished himself on the Alevi-Bektashism path or had to have served in the cemevis.

According to the results of the written and oral exams to be held, the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Djemevi Specialist staff to be employed is required to specialize in the field of Alevi-Bektashism and to carry out research studies in the field.
