'Turkish Music Recitals' Will Blow in New York

With the support of the Directorate of Communications, Turkish music will meet music lovers in New York this week.

Turkish Music Recitals will be held on October 27-November 4, hosted by the Turkish Consulate General in New York.

The Secret Trio group will perform for the first time on October 27 as part of the Turkish Music Recitals, which are organized to carry Turkish music from the local to the universal and to convey the musical richness to music lovers abroad.

The series of events will continue with a workshop on Turkish and Balkan Music Culture on October 28.

Turkish clarinet virtuoso Serkan Çağrı and successful Turkish musician İsmail Lumonovski will be holding a workshop at the Türkevi, where the traces of the musical culture from Turkey to the Balkans will be conveyed to the participants with technical and scientific explanations as well as samples.

In addition, on October 28, a reception will be held by the New York Consulate General at Türkevi on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Republic.

Serkan Çağrı and Marius Van Den Brink Trio will perform at the reception. Famous jazz saxophonist İlhan Erşahin will attend this performance as a guest artist.

Turkish Music Recitals will end on November 4 with a concert by Serkan Çağrı and Nükhet Duru in New York.
