The federation managers and coaches of the countries participating in the World Hope, Young and U21 Karate Championship, hosted by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, came together in the program organized by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality. Speaking at the program attended by Mehmet Baykan, General Manager of Sports Services of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, World Karate Federation President Antonio Espinos and Turkish Karate Federation President Aslan Abid Uğuz, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Uzbaş said that as the 2023 World Capital of Sports, we are happy to host athletes from many parts of the world. In Konya, which hosts many national and international sports organizations, athletes from many countries of the world compete in the World Hope, Youth and U21 Karate Championship, hosted by the Metropolitan Municipality.

Federation officials and coaches of the countries competing in the championship met at the Tantavi Cultural Center in the program organized by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

Speaking here, Turkish Karate Federation President Aslan Abid Uğuz expressed his pleasure to be in Konya and said, “I hope you have a good time in Konya. I hereby express that Konya is the 2023 World Capital of Sports. Therefore, I believe that we will organize much more here. Thank you very much for your participation in the hope of being together.” Said.

World Karate Federation (WKF) President Antonio Espinos emphasized the importance of the championship held in Konya and pointed out that this is very necessary for the development of sports federations. Espinos said, “There are so many good experiences that we can share between us… If we don't share them, we can't make any progress. These gatherings will actually be very useful and will ensure the rapid development of our federation. Those who come to such events for the first time will understand. When they go home, they will be much better at promoting the sport in their country. A meeting of this size will allow everyone here in the entire federation to better understand each other. Konya has recently reached a very important level in sports with its strong sports infrastructure and rising potential. In August, as Konya, we successfully hosted the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games, the largest sports organization in the Islamic world. Today, as Konya, we are very happy to host the World Hope, Youth and U-21 Karate Championships. During this championship, in which 39 of our national athletes also took part, our athlete brothers exhibit the best examples of unity and solidarity, brotherhood and tolerance along with competition. They continue to show the whole world that sports is brotherhood from Konya, the city of love and tolerance.
