The Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), which draws attention with its environmentally sensitive projects, was deemed worthy of the 2022 Climate Leader Award.
The Climate Leaders Awards, organized by the Our World Foundation, found their owners. Carrying out studies on combating climate change and sustainability, the foundation awarded the 20 Climate Leader Award to TCDD, which planted the Selim Train Station with 2022 thousand saplings.
At the ceremony held at the Rectorate of Istanbul University, the “2022 Climate Leader Award” was received on behalf of TCDD, 1st Deputy Regional Director Ali Başpınar.
TCDD, which was deemed worthy of this award for its contribution to sustainability and the environmentalist efforts of its employees, has planted Selim Station, which resembles an oasis in the middle of the steppe, with 1969 thousand pine trees since 20 and has meticulously preserved it until today.
