Did you know that music education is given at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall? CRR concert is not a place that opens doors and closes when it's over. The CRR Concert Hall, affiliated to the IMM Culture Department, is literally a culture and art center. The master classes, which brought together world-renowned musicians with talented students last season, attracted great attention. This season has taken a different step. CRR Composition Academy opened its doors to talented young people as of October 1 to train new musicians. The academy is headed by the famous composer Armağan Durdağ. Polyphonic Western Music Workshop and Jazz Music Workshop under the direction of Musician Power Başar Gülle started training.
YOUTH IN THE WEST, ADULTS IN JAZZ
26 students were selected for the Classical Music Academy and 16 students were selected for the Jazz Music Academy in the workshops where a total of 10 people were trained. As a result of the selections made in the categories of children (8-12 years) and youth (13-18 years), the names that were entitled to enter the academy were determined. Turkey's leading classical music composer Armağan Durdağ will give hands-on training to students every Sunday in one-to-one and group lessons for a total of 3 months.
The Academy offers introductory composing classes, composers from Turkey and the world, and introductory Contemporary Music classes. Composer, music theorist and performance artist Güçlü Başar Gülle is the director of the adult category. In the academy, selections were made among those who applied between the ages of 18-40. Those who qualify to enter the Jazz Music Academy for Adults will receive a 3-hour training every Saturday.
COMPOSITIONS WILL FIND THEIR VOICE
Following the completion of the training, a concert will be held at the CRR Composition Academy. In this concert, the works of the students will be performed by professional musicians. Students who successfully complete the academy will be awarded the CRR Composing Academy Certificate.
