Thus, the number of new vehicles put into service will be 81 in total. We will take delivery of the remaining buses in November. As the Metropolitan Municipality, which makes the cheapest transportation in Turkey, we continue to strengthen our fleet with our own resources to increase the comfort of our citizens. Best wishes." said.

Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay said that they are making intense efforts to strengthen the transportation infrastructure of Konya.

“WE ARE WORKING TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES IN TURKEY'S LARGEST GEOGRAPHICAL AREA”

Reminding that Konya is the largest city in Turkey in terms of geographical area and the 6th largest city in Turkey in terms of population, Mayor Altay said, “We are working day and night to improve the quality of transportation services in this great geography. Konya center population is 1 million 400 thousand people. We have 130 thousand university students, nearly 500 thousand primary and secondary school students, and we travel approximately 90 thousand kilometers every day and take 450 thousand people from one place to another by public transport. Increasing our transportation comfort is one of our top priorities.” he said.

“WE STRENGTHEN OUR BUS FLEET WITH OUR OWN RESOURCES”

Emphasizing that they are the Metropolitan Municipality that provides the cheapest transportation in Turkey, Mayor Altay said, “We have not been making a raise for students for five years and for civilians for three years. According to the highest-paid Metropolitan Municipality, almost a quarter of the price; While we realize public transportation at half the cost of metropolitan averages, we also strengthen our bus fleet with our own resources. As of now, we have paid 98 million liras for 372 buses. Before that, we put 53 of our buses into service. As of today, I hope we will have put 19 more buses, 9 semi-travel and 28 solo, into the service of Konyaians. Thus, the total number of vehicles put into service will be 81. Hopefully, with the arrival of 11 solo and 6 articulated vehicles in November, 98 of our buses will be in service in our city. As Konya Metropolitan Municipality, we offer our new buses one by one to increase the comfort of our citizens, as the Metropolitan Municipality, which makes the cheapest transportation in Turkey. Good luck to the people of Konya.” used his statements.
