The conditions for cats, dogs and birds to travel with their owners in public transportation vehicles in Istanbul were rearranged. Accordingly, it is now possible to travel with pets in public transportation.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) announced that with the decision taken on October 4, World Animal Protection Day, pets can travel with their owners in public transportation vehicles.
According to the statement made by IMM, a higher committee was formed with experts on the subject due to October 4 World Animal Protection Day, and the conditions for cats, dogs and birds to travel with their owners in public transportation vehicles were rearranged.
Accordingly, guides and dogs, cats and birds weighing less than 5 kilograms will be able to travel all day long in public transportation vehicles such as subways, buses and ferries, and dogs over 5 kilograms will be able to travel outside the hours of 07.00-10.00 and 16.00-20.00.
Dogs, cats with muzzles and leashes, and birds with special bags will be able to travel with their cages.
