Pre-season Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) team and Erzincan Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) teams conducted a rescue drill at Ergan Mountain Winter Sports and Nature Tourism Center, one of the important centers of winter tourism in Erzincan.

Before the 2022-2023 ski season, the Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) team and the Erzincan Disaster and Emergency Directorate (AFAD) teams, in order to ensure that domestic and foreign tourists who will come during the season can have a safe holiday at Ergan Mountain Winter Sports and Nature Tourism Center in Erzincan. conducted a rescue exercise. Ergan Mountain Ski Center has a total of 363 kilometers of pistes, with lengths varying between 2 and 500 meters, with 4 slopes of different difficulty levels, as well as side slopes. The teams in charge of the safety of holidaymakers and athletes at Mount Ergan Winter Sports and Nature Tourism Center are preparing for the new season before the snowfall. The 17-person JAK team and AFAD teams, consisting of expert gendarmerie, expert sergeant and non-commissioned officers affiliated to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, completed their training on the measures to be taken against possible negativities during the ski season and carried out their practical exercises.

'People Stuck on Chairlift Rescued'

In the exercise, the citizens who were stranded were rescued by getting on the chairlift, which was at a height of about 20 meters, as per the scenario. JAK teams and AFAD teams climbed the iron pole and lowered the skiers they reached by tying them to the rope. The drill, which did not experience any negativity, received full marks from the audience.
