Izmir Metropolitan Municipality participated in the Turkey Disaster Response Plan desk and field exercise. Fire Brigade Department teams successfully completed their duties in both fire and debris fields with 19 vehicles and 90 personnel.

The Turkey Disaster Response Plan (TAMP) desk and field exercise, in which Izmir Metropolitan Municipality units participated, was completed. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department became one of the biggest stakeholders in the exercise, in which 26 disaster working group officers, representatives of relevant public institutions and non-governmental organizations participated in the scope of Izmir Provincial Disaster Response Plan. The teams successfully completed their mission in both fire and debris fields with 19 vehicles and 90 personnel.

From search and rescue to flood prevention

The first of the exercises, in which İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger also participated, was held in the Wreckage Training Area of ​​AFAD İzmir Search and Rescue Unit Directorate as a search and rescue operation in the wreckage. The same application was put into use in the old Pension Building of Bornova İzmir Union of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chambers of Artisans and Craftsmen, Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (IESOB), which is being demolished as a risky building in Buca.

In the İnciraltı Urban Forest Lagoon and Barış Manço Bridge area, large-scale flood prevention, water extraction, traffic accident rescue and underwater and surface live search and rescue exercises were held. The last of the field exercises was held in the Izmir Port Warehouse area in Konak.
