After the completion of the works, it is aimed that Ulus will both have a brand new look and become a center of attraction again.

After the works to be done, it is aimed that Ulus will have a brand new look and become a center of attraction as it was in the old days.

60 YEARS OLD ANATARTALAR BAZAAR IS RENEWED

Renovation works started in Anafartalar Bazaar, which was opened on November 10, 1964 and is Ankara's first shopping center with an escalator.

In the bazaar, where the works of Turkey's first female ceramist Füreya Koral and Seniye Fenmen, as well as the abstract paintings of Nuri İyem applied on the wall for the first time, are located, the Department of Science Affairs teams, static strengthening, facade renovation, interior ceiling, wall and floor covering renovations. and carries out renovation works in electrical and mechanical installations.

The work on the Anafartalar Bazaar, which has an important place in the history of the city, is planned to be completed in April 2023.

NEW TECHNOLOGY CENTER WILL BE OPENED IN ULUS BUSINESS HAN

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to destroy the sources that cause destruction by preserving the original architecture of the Ulus Business Han, which has changed some parts of it over time and lost its design feature.

Continuing its efforts to make the capital a center of science and technology and putting the technology centers in Dikmen Valley and Northern Ankara into service, ABB will open a part of Ulus Business Center as a technology center for university students.

Work on the building is expected to be completed in December.

The teams of the Department of Science Affairs; The work in the former Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, which is one of the centers of economic, commercial and social life, continues at full speed.

In the building, which was evacuated in 2017 and has not been used since then; façade renovation, interior ceiling, wall and floor renewal manufacturing, elevator, electrical and mechanical installation renovation works are carried out.

After the works, which are planned to be completed in June 2023, it is expected that the EGO General Directorate will be moved to the building and the business of the tradesmen in the region will be opened.

Latif Yeşil, Head of Superstructures of the Department of Science Affairs, stated that they are continuing the renovation works uninterruptedly in Ulus İş Hanı, Anafartalar Bazaar and the old Youth and Sports Services building, which have an important place in the history of the capital, and gave information about the works carried out.

“As the Department of Science Affairs, we are carrying out our restoration project in Ulus Historical City Center and Ulus Business Center. We have also undergone extensive renovations in Ulus İş Hanı block A, known as the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate building. We continue to work on façade renovation, installation and construction in Anafartalar Bazaar, which is right behind it. We are planning to bring Ulus back to its old days without making the tradesmen suffer.”

Kutay Çakar, one of the tradesmen of Anafartalar Bazaar, who stated that he was very happy with the works initiated by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, said, “The ventilation was very damaged during the bomb explosion. No repairs have been made since then. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is working to renew the ceilings and ventilation systems of our bazaar, and there will be fire extinguishers in our bazaar during a possible fire. I believe that our business will increase with the completion of the renovation works. There will be a cleaner, warmer environment when customers come. Our toilets are also being renovated. I think that after the landscaping is done, it will be a safer and more social environment.”
