Haydarpaşa Train Station, which was put into service in 1908 and became one of the symbols of Istanbul, broke out in 2010 and the historical station was severely damaged. Restoration works started after the fire could not be completed yet despite the past 12 years. The scaffolding, which was built outside the historical building, could not be dismantled for years because the works could not be completed. Although the stained glass windows, wall coverings and engravings in the waiting room have been restored by hand, it is not known when the station will be put into service again, the exterior works of which could not be completed.

Haydarpaşa Train Station is on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, Kadıköy It is the main train station belonging to TCDD, located in the district of Rasimpaşa.
The first building of the station, which is located at the starting point of the Istanbul-Haydarpasa-Ankara railway and today hosts the 1st Regional Directorate of TCDD, was built by the Ministry of Public Works of the Ottoman Empire and put into service on September 22, 1872. This station building, which started to become inadequate due to the increasing traffic over time, was replaced by the existing station building, which was designed by German architects Otto Ritter and Hellmuth Cuno in neoclassical German style and built by Chemins de Fer Ottomans d'Anatolie / Ottoman Anatolian Railways (CFOA) Company on 19 August 1908. was put into service.
The station, which was renovated by TCDD with its electrification infrastructure and put into service on May 29, 1969, served the B1969 (Haydarpaşa - Gebze) Suburban Train between 2013 and 2, and was closed on June 19, 2013 as part of the construction of the Marmaray project. All train lines belonging to the station will be transferred to Pendik Train Station on July 24, 2014, and to Söğütlüçeşme Train Station on March 12, 2019. Halkalı Transferred to the Train Station.
It is planned that the station will serve High Speed Trains when the restoration works carried out at the station are completed within the scope of Ankara - Istanbul YHT and Marmaray works.
