According to the Presidential Annual Program for 2023, the design of the national metro project will begin next year. Thus, 80 percent locality level will be reached in all rail system vehicles, including metro and tram production.
The “Presidential Annual Program for the Year 25”, published in the Official Gazette on October 2023, contains information about the rail system projects to be implemented in 2023. In 2023, various steps will be taken towards transportation by train and metro.
The design of the national metro project to be developed by TÜRASAŞ will begin in 2023. In the following years, the prototype will be prepared first and then mass production will begin.
National Electric Train Set
TÜRASAŞ, which was established to produce rail system vehicles locally and nationally in accordance with national and international standards, aims to rapidly develop the national railway industry and become a global manufacturer in the railway vehicle manufacturing industry.
In this direction, 160 train sets will be ready for delivery following the completion of the certification work of the National Electric Train Set prototype suitable for 3 km/h within TÜRASAŞ.
The prototype of the national high-speed train will be completed in 2023. The design studies of the National High Speed Train Project, which is suitable for 225 kilometers per hour, will be completed and a 40 percent progress will be achieved in the prototype works.
The National Suburban Train Set project, whose design and prototype works were started in 2021, is planned to be completed in 2023 and the sets to be produced will be used in the Gaziray project.
The construction of the National Rail Systems Test and Research Center, which was built in Eskişehir in order to test rail system equipment and rail system vehicles in our country, will be completed to meet the needs of TÜRASAŞ. In the following years, other domestic manufacturers and companies abroad will be allowed to conduct their tests.
