In order to bring Bornova's historical and cultural values ​​to tourism, signatures were signed for the Bornova Culture Island project, which was prepared under the leadership of the World City İzmir Association, Levantines Association, Service Sector Employees Education and Solidarity Association. With the Bornova Culture Island project, which will be realized with the support of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Bornova Municipality, Yeşilova Mound, Homer Valley and Levantine mansions with their caves will be brought into the city's memory.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor attended the signing ceremony held at the Dramalılar Mansion for the Bornova Culture Island Project. Tunç Soyer, Bornova Mayor Mustafa İduğ, Service Industry Employees Education and Solidarity Association (HİSÇED) President Gülper Ergün, İzmir Levantines Association President Giuliano Gloghini, World City İzmir Association (DİDER) President Can Ersoy, political party representatives, headmen, council members and academics. .

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, stated that with the Bornova Culture Island Project, they will preserve the cultural heritage points of Bornova and carry them to the next generations. Underlining that they will bring this region to Izmir as a new destination for tourism, Mayor Soyer said, “Bornova is not only a city of education, history, culture and agriculture, but also a city of tourism. It is our duty to bring this forward. Homeros is a brand strong enough to make Bornova a world brand on its own. For this, we have prepared our UNESCO City of Literature application. İzmir will gain a new world brand with the power of Homer. Thanks to the step we take today, we will be able to travel in time between the 8-year-old Yeşilova Mound, the Homer Valley and the Levantine mansions. Thus, our city will become a universal destination where 500 years of human history are experienced in a single day. Undoubtedly, we will do our best to promote this unique field in the world and in our country.”
