Sea lettuce formed due to seasonal conditions in İzmir Bay is cleaned by the teams of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and İZSU General Directorate. Teams are working from both land and sea so that the lettuce does not rot and cause odor.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and İZSU General Directorate teams are on the alert against sea lettuce (ulva) caused by seasonal conditions. In order to prevent the sea lettuce seen on the Bostanlı coast from rotting and causing odor, the teams are cleaning the area with their intense work from land and sea.
According to the information given by İZSU, sea lettuce was seen more this year compared to previous years in the sea water whose temperature did not decrease due to the warm and dry autumn months. However, it has been announced that sea lettuce will decrease with the decrease in temperature and the onset of precipitation.
The sea lettuce cleaning of the teams has been going on continuously since September 30.
