TCDD Transportation General Manager Yalçın's Republic Day Celebration

October 29 is the birthday of our Republic… While it was accepted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on October 29, 1923 that the form of administration of the Turkish State was the Republic, studies were started in many areas from economy to education, from health to health.

In this context, the railways that started on September 23, 1856 in the Anatolian lands, right after the establishment of the Republic, will be connected to each other by steel rails. The whole country will become an iron mass. Railways are a more important security weapon of your country than rifles and cannons.” He lived his golden age with the railway mobilization that he started.

Until the 1940s, approximately 80 kilometers of railways were built, 3 percent of which was in our Eastern Anatolia Region. At the same time, the lines in the hands of foreign companies were nationalized, and the railway became the building block of our country's development with the understanding of "The railway brings prosperity and hope".

Starting from 2003, the railways were made a state policy again and the existing lines were renewed, 1.213 kilometers of high-speed, 219 kilometers of high-speed railway lines were built, thus our total railway length reached 13 kilometers.

Marmaray Project, one of the world's leading infrastructure projects, which is one of the proudest projects in bringing our Republic to the level of contemporary civilizations and connecting the continents of Asia and Europe by rail, was put into operation on October 29, 2013, on the 90th birthday of our Republic.

As the TCDD Transportation family, we continue to work tirelessly, day and night, to provide fast and comfortable railway transportation, and to provide the best service to our country and nation, with the understanding of "Where the road passes, civilization passes".

We are proud and happy to transport hundreds of thousands of passengers and thousands of tons of cargo per day.

Who laid down their lives to give us the Republic; We commemorate our comrades-in-arms and martyrs, especially Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who made this paradise homeland at the cost of their lives, with mercy, and our heroic veterans with gratitude and gratitude; I congratulate the Republic Day with my sincere wishes.
