“IT IS ALL ABOUT JOKING WITH A FRIEND”

Making the defense, Gülşen said: “I have given statements on this subject before. I repeat, I am innocent. I believe I will be acquitted at the end of the trial. It's all about joking with a friend on stage. When I was on stage, I wanted to join the audience. Since this was not possible in a crowd, I asked one of my friends on stage to carry me to the audience. A friend of mine jokingly said, "Let the imam carry you". The Imam is Miraç Çelenk, who is known by this nickname among us. This nickname has no special meaning. He is a friend we often joke with on stage shows. It is a dialogue between two people on the stage with the reflex brought by the excitement of the stage. In fact, the dialogue ends with itself. While saying this, I did not target a third person, a social class or segment. I did not repeat, I did not underline, I did not give applause, I did not use it for promotional purposes, so I did not show the attitude of inciting the people to hatred and enmity. This can never be my intention, I did not commit the crime that was put on me."

I can't go to my concerts there because of the ban abroad. I can't plan new concerts. I want this affliction removed. I want this for my family and my colleagues as well.”

After the defense of Gülşen and her lawyers, the court made an interim decision and decided to continue the ban on leaving the country, while removing the judicial control of Gülşen in the form of 'signing at the nearest police station'. The court decided that Gülşen should be exempted from the hearings and that the hearing of witnesses and requests for intervention should be evaluated at the next hearing. The next hearing will be held on December 21 at 10.00:XNUMX am.
