Malatya Hekimhan Road Opened, Reducing Travel Time by 35 Minutes

Malatya Hekimhan Road, which connects Malatya and Sivas, was put into service with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu pointed out that the travel time was shortened by 35 minutes.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, emphasizing that investments continue to enter services all over Turkey, said that Malatya, one of the centers of agriculture, trade and industry, has gained another investment with Hekimhan Road. Karaismailoğlu said, “The existing 108 km long Malatya-Hekimhan Road, which serves as the only road on the north-south axis connecting Malatya to Sivas, has been redesigned with a length of 104,3 kilometers. It has been turned into a 2×2 lane, bituminous hot mix (BSK) paved divided road. 6 tunnels with a total length of 163 thousand 8 meters and 2 bridges with a length of 398 thousand 14 meters were built on the road route established in the rough terrain.

Emphasizing that uninterrupted, safe and comfortable transportation is offered, Karaismailoğlu said, “With the project, the road will be shortened by 3.7 kilometers compared to the existing route. Travel time will be reduced by approximately 35 minutes.
