Karsan signed a contract with TPER Bologna company, which operates in the electric public transportation transformation in Italy, for the purchase of a total of 31 18-meter electric e-ATA buses.
Karsan won the tender for 24 definitive and 7 optional 18-meter electric buses for the public transportation systems of Bologna, Italy, with its e-ATA model.
In addition to the purchase of buses with the tender, it is envisaged that Karsan will provide maintenance services for the vehicles for 18 years. The delivery of the vehicles is planned to be realized in the last quarter of 2023.
Emphasizing that Karsan has entered a dynamic period in its Italian structuring, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “We are proud to add new achievements to the successes we have achieved in Italy. After our e-JEST and e-ATAK sales, we are now expanding in the Italian market with e-ATA. Stressing that Karsan's position in Italy will be further strengthened with its market-specific structures, Baş said, “We have serious targets for the Italian market in terms of electric vehicles. After our new agreement, we will increase our electric vehicle fleet in Italy, which reached 75 with the other tenders we signed, to 106 at the end of next year. Karsan, which signed a contract worth 18.2 million euros within the scope of the electric bus purchase contract after the last tender it won, is expected to provide maintenance services for vehicles as well as electric buses within the framework of the tender.
It was stated that TPER Bologna company, with which Karsan signed a contract, is known as the largest passenger transportation company in the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy. TPER Bologna, the public company that makes the public transportation of the city of Bologna, also operates in the transformation of the city's public transportation systems.
