The trainees of Bağcılar Municipality Feyzullah Kıyıklık Palace for the Disabled, who visited GUHEM, the Gökmen Aerospace Training Center, Europe's largest aerospace themed training center, had both a useful and enjoyable time by experiencing the mechanisms.
Within the framework of Space Week events celebrated between October 4-10, the trainees of Bağcılar Municipality Feyzullah Kıyıklık Palace for the Disabled were taken to Gökmen Aerospace Training Center in Bursa. Disabled space lovers were welcomed by General Manager Halit Mirahmetoğlu at GUHEM, Europe's largest aerospace themed training center.
Special children first got a lot of information about their fields of experience, the feelings and techniques of flying, while examining the technologies that have developed from the history of flight to the present, at the GUHEM aviation gallery. The trainees had the opportunity to closely examine the pilotage, cabin and tail sections of a real-scale AIRBUS A320 aircraft located here.
We are happy to see the interest in aviation.
In the Space Gallery, special guests learned about the progress of human beings in space travel from past to present, and watched how astronauts lived on the international space station, with interactive content, each more entertaining and instructive than the other.
In the "Explore Space" section, which included space observation, planets, the operation of the universe, the latest space technologies, mini planetarium, life opportunities on different planets, space climbing, laboratories, and the Mars reconnaissance vehicle, the guests had a useful time. The children's favorite place was the elevator, which looked like a space shuttle. Disabled people who got on the elevator felt like they were going into space.
Stating that their aim is to make all young people love space aviation, Mirahmetoğlu said, “We want to make a 7-year-old child say that in the future I will be an astronaut, I will become a pilot. We do not have a child who comes here and is not interested in science, technology and aviation. Everyone leaves here in a related way. We are happy to see that our children are interested in space and aviation.”
At the end of a nice and useful day, the participants thanked the Mayor of Bağcılar, Abdullah Özdemir, for giving them this opportunity.
