In the 100th Anniversary Anthem Poetry and Composition Competition organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the jury was evaluated in the composition category. 88 compositions participating in the competition were not found to be worthy of the final. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will make a statement about the next process in the coming days.

After the poetry competition, which is the first stage of the 100th Anniversary Anthem of our Republic, Poetry and Composition Competition organized by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality to draw attention to the achievements of the Republic, a jury evaluation was made in the composition category. The advisory board and jury members, which came together on September 27, examined 88 compositions, and none of them were deemed worthy of the final. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its efforts to create the 100th Anniversary Anthem, will make a statement about the next process in the coming days.

5 poems announced

In the 100th Anniversary Anthem Poetry and Composition Contest, on October 29, 2021, 456 references selected by the jury out of 5 poems were announced. It was planned to announce 29 anthems on October 2022, 10 to compete in the final to be held on October 3, 2022.

Dr. Ahmet Walker, Yaşar University Art and Design Faculty Music Department Head and composer Prof. Dr. Mehmet Can Özel, Founder of Ankapella Choir, Choir and Orchestra Conductor Assoc. Dr. Ahter Destan physically participated. Writer and musician Zülfü Livaneli and Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Lecturer and Orchestra Conductor Prof. Dr. Renkm Gökmen took part in the meeting online. Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (BIPO) Orchestra Conductor Prof. Dr. Gürer Aykal and poet, writer and actress Sunay Akın could not attend because they were abroad. Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center Branch Manager, violinist Emel Akçay Özer, Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center Project Coordinator, composer Çağlar Yıldırım, served as the backup jury.
