Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu announced that the total passenger traffic, including transit passengers, increased by 51 percent in the January-September period, exceeding 138 million. Noting that 9 million 47 thousand passengers were hosted at Istanbul Airport, which was chosen as the best airport in the world, in 572 months, Karaismailoğlu said, “We continue to stand out with our service quality at our passenger and environmentally friendly airports. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a statement about aviation statistics. Emphasizing that despite the chaos experienced in the aviation industry in the world, there is comfort at the airports in Turkey, Karaismailoğlu noted that the aviation industry is developing rapidly.
Expressing that the number of aircraft landing and taking off at our passenger and environmentally friendly airports reached 75 thousand 114 in domestic flights and 77 thousand 63 in international lines in September, Karaismailoğlu announced that with the overpasses, the total air traffic increased by 14,3 percent to 188 thousand 302. . Underlining that 2019 percent of the air traffic in September 97 was reached, Karaismailoğlu said, “The passenger traffic, which has decreased to a great extent throughout the world and in our country during the coronavirus epidemic, has approached its old level in September 2022 compared to the same month of 2019. In September of this year, 2019 percent of 93 passenger traffic was realized in the total passenger traffic of our airports. In the same period, domestic passenger traffic was 7 million 222 thousand, international passenger traffic was 12 million 128 thousand. Together with the transit passengers, the total passenger traffic increased by 23,1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and exceeded 19 million 403 thousand.
Pointing out that the total airport freight traffic is approaching 360 thousand tons, Karaismailoğlu stated that the air traffic at Istanbul Airport, which has been selected as the best airport in the world, reached a total of 10 thousand 5, including 30 thousand 86 in domestic lines and 40 thousand 91 in international lines. Karaismailoğlu said, “We hosted a total of 1 million 529 thousand passengers at our Istanbul Airport, 4 million 899 thousand on domestic flights and 6 million 428 thousand on international lines”.
AIRCRAFT TRAFFIC INCREASED 34,1 PERCENT
Karaismailoğlu stated that in the January-September period, the plane traffic was 595 thousand 547 on domestic lines and 533 thousand 125 on international lines, and thus a total of 1 million 413 thousand aircraft traffic was reached with the overpasses. Underlining that the air traffic increased by 34,1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “We have served 59 million 412 thousand domestic and 78 million 287 thousand passengers at our airports across Turkey. Together with the transit passengers, the total passenger traffic increased by 51 percent and exceeded 138 million. In the same period, the airport load totaled 3 million tons.
ISTANBUL AIRPORT IS AT THE TOP
Pointing to Istanbul Airport, which did not leave the top in the density ranking in Europe, Karaismailoğlu continued his statement as follows:
“Istanbul Airport, which is among our mega projects, draws attention with its service quality and awards. At Istanbul Airport in 9 months; A total of 82 thousand 368 aircraft traffic took place, of which 231 thousand 410 on domestic lines and 313 thousand 778 on international lines. We served 12 million 187 thousand passengers on domestic lines and 35 million 385 thousand passengers on international lines. The total passenger traffic has reached 47 million 572 thousand.
WE HOST 40 MILLION 222 THOUSAND PASSENGERS AT AIRPORTS IN TOURISM CENTERS
Referring to the mobility at the airports in the tourism centers, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu stated that the total air traffic was 280 thousand 505 and the number of passengers 40 million 222 thousand in the January-September period. Expressing that a total of 4 million 581 thousand passengers, including 3 million 23 thousand on domestic lines and 7 million 605 thousand on international lines, were hosted at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, Karaismailoğlu said, “The number of domestic passengers at Antalya Airport is 4 million 603 thousand, international passengers. A total of 20 million 222 thousand passenger traffic was realized, of which 24 million 825 thousand. We served 3 million 876 thousand passengers at Muğla Dalaman Airport, 3 million 356 thousand passengers at Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport, and 559 thousand 305 passengers at Gazipaşa Alanya Airport.
