Izmir Chamber of Commerce (IZTO) went to the polls yesterday (Monday, October 4rd) after 3 and a half years. A total of 10 thousand 978 people voted in the election, in which the members of the assembly and professional committees that will manage İZTO and guide the commercial life of the city in the new period were determined. While 127 of the votes were deemed invalid, the number of valid votes became 10.
09.00 Assembly members and 17.00 committee members were elected in the elections held between 80-186 in Gaziemir Fair İzmir between 452-186. 184 Assembly members and XNUMX committee members were elected. He earned the right to be a member of the IZTO assembly and committee again.
ÖZGENER: “IT WAS A CHOICE THAT FITS OUR ROOM”
In his statement after the opening of the ballot boxes, Mahmut Özgener stated that democracy won in the elections and said, “First of all, I would like to thank all our members who came here and voted. It was a peaceful, worthy choice for our room. I would also like to thank all our Chamber employees, Konak District Election Board, police and ballot box officials who took part in the election process. They have a great share in making the election in such a beautiful environment," he said.

Stating that most of the professional committees entered the election with a single list, Özgener continued his words as follows: “One side was upset and the other was happy in our committees where double lists competed. The important thing was that the winner and the loser embraced. We said 'we' when we were nominated 4 and a half years ago, and we continue to say 'we'. We are one with the loser and one with the winner. I would like to thank all my friends who took part in our assembly and committees in the 2018-2022 period.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON OCTOBER 8
Expressing that he has not been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors yet, Özgener stated that he is a candidate again in the elections to be held on Saturday, October 8th. İZTO Board of Directors, Discipline Board, Union General Assembly Delegate Elections, Assembly Presidency and Presidency Council elections will take place on October 8 at the İzmir Chamber of Commerce.
