Young Art 8th Contemporary Art Project Competition Concluded

The “Young Art: 8th Contemporary Art Project Competition” organized within the scope of the Capital Culture Road Festival this year in order to support contemporary art and young artists in Turkey, and to increase the visibility of contemporary art practices and ensure that they reach large masses, has been concluded.

Due to the 60th anniversary of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar's death, a total of 110 thousand liras will be awarded to the owners of the works in the competition, in which 175 works whose theme was determined as "Everything is in Its Place" and whose applications were accepted by the selection committee.

5 thousand liras will be presented separately to 18 people who are deemed worthy of the Achievement Award, 5 thousand liras will be presented to 9 people who are deemed worthy of the Honorable Mention Award, and 20 thousand liras will be presented to 2 people who are deemed worthy to exhibit their works.

Selection Committee of the Competition

Young Art: In the selection committee of the 8th Contemporary Art Project Competition, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Rector and Founding President of Tanpınar Center Prof. Dr. Handan İnci, Yeditepe University Art and Cultural Management Department Head and Curator Prof. Dr. Marcus Graf, Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation Board Member M. Özalp Birol, Artist Prof. from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Fine Arts Faculty Painting Department. Tansel Türkdoğan, Dean of Düzce University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture Prof. Dr. E. Yıldız Doyran, Representative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Manager of Fine Arts Ömer Faruk Belviranlı, and Deputy General Manager of Fine Arts Dr. Alper Ozkan took place.

Award-Winning Artists

In the competition, İrem Yüksekbilgili, İrem Sezer, Samet Alis, Edanur Sabuncu, Cemil Olgun Can were awarded the Achievement Award, and the Honorable Mention Award was given to Özgün Şahin, Behiye Arat, Mustafa Ringoca, Esma Nur Retirement and Zehra Seda Boztunalı.

Artists whose works are deemed worthy of exhibit are Zeynep Ergül, Fatma Bişirici, Selin Bintaş Çeliktaş, Ahmet Dağdelen, Halil İbrahim Çakmak, Hasret Şahin, Yağmur Kevser Barutçu, Elif Beyaz, Yüsra Canik, Elif Çelebi, Ayşe Ceren Solmaz, Uğur Avcı, Şevval Konyalı, Şirvan Güngörmez, Selime Deliahmetoğlu, Osman Batuhan Türker, Cansu Kul, Melike Atik, Mert Yılmaz and Ecem Öykü Keskin.

Works will be exhibited at CSO Ada Ankara

Young Art: As a result of the 8th Contemporary Art Project Competition, 30 works will be exhibited at CSO Ada Ankara as part of the festival.

The Ministry will then announce the date of the collection, award ceremony and exhibition of the online competition on the website of the General Directorate of Fine Arts.
