'World Acro Cup' Event Started in Ölüdeniz

With the contributions of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Muğla Governorship, South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) and Fethiye District Governorship; The “World Acro Cup” event, which was held for the first time this year with the approval of the Turkish Air Sports Federation (THSF) and the International Air Sports Federation (FAI) and the organization of Babadağ Teleferik, started with a ceremony.

In addition to the Fethiye protocol, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Turkish Air Sports Federation, Muğla Governorship, South Aegean Development Agency officials and athletes attended the ceremony, which took place on the Babadağ 1700 meter track.

Wingsuit, base jump, speed fly and tandem paragliding shows will be held at the event, in which 49 athletes from 420 countries will participate. The event, where the Turkey Acro Cup and Word Acro Cup races will be held, will end on October 2.

Speaking at the opening ceremony held on the 1700 meter track of Babadağ, Fethiye District Governor Alper Balcı stated that Fethiye, Turkey, has gained a new destination with the cable car to Babadağ. Balcı said, “I am very happy to participate in this event. Fethiye and Ölüdeniz gained a new destination. I would like to thank Kenan Kıran for bringing the facility to the district. An international event can be held in the district with the facility. We lost a lot of time in the pandemic. We need to regain the lost time with such organizations. Thanks to all the participating athletes for choosing Fethiye to be free. Let's hold this event in category 1 next year," he said.

World Acro Cup – Ölüdeniz (WAC) will be held in the sky, in Babadağ and Ölüdeniz, between 28 September – 2 October 2022!
