Horse Archery Turkey Championship Wind Blows in Kayseri

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, together with the Governor of Kayseri Gökmen Çiçek, participated in the final competitions of the Equestrian Archery Turkey Championship at the Metropolitan Municipality Traditional Sports Equestrian and Archery Facility, the prestigious sports center of the city. President Büyükkılıç and Governor Çiçek examined the facility and met with the trainees who were trained at the facility.

Horse Archery Turkey Championship, which was held at the Traditional Sports Equestrian and Archery Facility between 17-18 September 2022, ended. In this context, 11 athletes from 77 cities competed in four different categories and two different courses in the final competitions of the Turkish Horse Archery Championship held at the Metropolitan Municipality Traditional Sports Equestrian and Archery Facility.

President Büyükkılıç and Governor Çiçek examined the Traditional Sports Equestrian and Archery Facility before the final competitions of the Turkish Horse Archery Championship and met with the trainees who were trained at the facility.

PRESIDENT BÜYÜKKILIÇ CELEBRATED THE CHAMPIONS

Expressing that the competition was held in four categories as adult, young, star and tiny, Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç noted that 11 athletes from 77 provinces competed fiercely. President Büyükkılıç, in his statement here, said, “I would like to thank all our friends who contributed to the realization of an important and meaningful work in our city. In our Traditional Sports Equestrian and Archery Facility, which has become the Olympic Archery center that we brought to our city, we are holding the Equestrian Archery Competitions organized by the Turkish Traditional Equestrian Sports Federation. Especially here, competitions are held in four categories: adult, youth, star and mini. 9 athletes from 10 provinces, who were successful in the semi-finals held in Afyon on September 11, 11 and 77, are now among us and they continued their races on this track, I congratulate the champions”.

Büyükkılıç thanked those who contributed and said, “I would like to welcome the President of Turkish Traditional Equestrian Sports Federation Mr. Zübeyir, and I would like to thank you for the support you have given to our Kayseri. I would also like to thank Mr. Fatih Işık, the Vice President of Turkish Traditional Equestrian Sports Federation, Equestrian Archery, for his warmth. We would like to convey our greetings and thanks to our friend and brother Bilal Erdoğan, who contributed to the acquisition of these facilities.”

“WE CONTINUE OUR STRIVES TO MAKE KAYSERİ A CENTER FOR SPORTS”

Noting that Kayseri is known as the center of commerce and industry, President Büyükkılıç said that they continue their efforts to make it a center of sports by diversifying it in different branches of tourism.

“With this project, in our Traditional Sports, Equestrian, Archery Facility, among our ancestral sports, equestrian javelin, equestrian archery, goosebumps, aba wrestling, minstrel games, belt wrestling, mangala, baggy wrestling, oil wrestling, pedestrian archery, as well as olympic archery, wrestling, fitness sports are also included. The fact that it is right next to our Anatolian Wonderland also adds value to this facility in our city. In this sense, we believe that we have established the most modern facility in Turkey. I would also like to share that this facility, which is one of the few facilities in Turkey, exhibits an approach that will make Kayseri the center of sports with our pioneering, leading and exemplary projects. It makes us happy and happy that such a meaningful and important championship is being held in our facilities. We would like to thank our Governor and his valuable staff for encouraging us in this field as well as in every other field, with the understanding that I hope we will develop further and give our athletes an opportunity.”

Governor Gökmen Çiçek said, “Our valuable athletes who ran around the Danube, took us to the Battle of Mohaç, reminded us of our ancestors, and made us travel to history. We thank you all very much.”

At the end of the competition, medals were presented to the winners.
