The “Troya Cultural Road Festival”, which will be organized as part of the “Turkish Cultural Road Festivals”, which will be expanded with much more inclusive events in 5 cities in order to contribute to Turkey's international brand value, starts on 16 September.

More than 100 events consisting of festivals, exhibitions, concerts, talks and workshops to be organized in Çanakkale by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will bring together art lovers. More than 40 artists will take part in the events to be held in more than 1000 venues. Çanakkale, which bears the traces of Troy, Lydia, Rome, the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey, will offer different experiences for 10 days for all Çanakkale residents and those who cross the Bosphorus.

The festival was introduced at the Anatolian Hamidiye Bastion with the participation of Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Özgül Özkan Yavuz, Governor of Çanakkale İlhami Aktaş, Head of Gallipoli Historical Site of Çanakkale Wars İsmail Kaşdemir.

Providing information about the festival at the meeting, Deputy Minister Özgül Özkan Yavuz stated that after the success of Beyoğlu and Başkent Cultural Roads, it was decided to add two cities from the east and west of Turkey to the cultural routes, and said, “Diyarbakir from the east and Çanakkale from the west are included in the route of cultural routes. we did. Çanakkale is a place that is very popular in every region of Turkey and raises everyone's national feelings. It is also very enjoyable with its nature and climate and has a very serious potential.” said.

Emphasizing that content from different branches of art is created according to each age group at the Troy Cultural Road Festival, Deputy Minister Yavuz said, “We want to create an axis for the residents of the city and the visitors of the city, to highlight the cultural and artistic venues of this axis, and to organize activities starting from these cultural and artistic venues. We aimed to bring art to the streets, thus enabling people to encounter art in places they never expected. We aimed for the festival not to integrate with the city, but to contribute to the image of the city.” he said.

“The Trojans Are Coming”

Troy Culture Road Festival will start with the “Trojans are Coming” march to be held in Çanakkale Kordon on Friday, September 16.

After the march, which will be colorful with the Bosphorus Command Marching Band and Mehter concert, the people of Çanakkale and the people of the region will have the opportunity to watch the Fire of Anatolia “Troy” Show, whose General Artistic Director is Mustafa Erdoğan, at the Anadolu Hamidiye Bastion Open Air Stage.

Dozens of Concerts in 5 Different Open Air Stages

During the festival, the Anatolian Hamidiye Bastion, Kilitbahir Castle, Kordon Trojan Horse, Assos Ancient City and Parion Ancient City will be set up in open-air stages with the General Manager of the State Opera and Ballet Murat Karahan and the soloist of the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Efe Kışlalı in İzmir. Dozens of Exhibitions in Every Field from History to Modern Art

Within the scope of the Troy Cultural Road Festival, which hosts all branches of art, exhibitions of successful artists in many different fields can be seen.

The works of 10 artists from different art disciplines from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey are at the Hamidiye Bastion Hangar as part of the international contemporary art project "I Have a Story" curated by Beste Gürsu. will meet with art lovers.

The artists involved in the project will work on painting, ceramics, sculpture, and drawing in the workshop established during the event, and artist talks will be held.

At the Anadolu Hamidiye Bastion, a Life Shaped by Soil Exhibition depicting the 50-year friendship between Kale Group Founder İbrahim Bodur and ceramic artist Mustafa Tunçalp, and the Çanakkale Wars and Gallipoli History with the Pot-Castle Exhibition of young ceramic artists Şeyma Balcı and Metin Ertürk by the Independent Art Foundation. Cycling, Diving and Marathon

The Troy Cultural Road Festival will also host sports events with the participation of thousands of people.

With the slogan "The Iron Horsemen of the Wind Are Driving to Troy", thousands of bikers will meet in front of the Trojan Horse in Kordon on Sunday, September 18th. In the bicycle tour, where families can join with their children, the participants will pedal 35 kilometers and arrive at the Ancient City of Troy and the Troy Museum.

A memorial dive to the Gallipoli Historical Underwater Park will be held on Saturday, September 24 at the Mehmetçik Lighthouse in Gallipoli.

On September 25, the last day of the festival, the Gallipoli Marathon, which will be held for the 7th time this year, will be run with the participation of many competitors from abroad.
