Road2Tunnel- 5th International Highways, Bridges and Tunnels Fair, hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, started in Fuarizmir.

The opening of the Road2Tunnel – 5th International Highways, Bridges and Tunnels Specialization Fair, organized in cooperation with İZFAŞ and ARK Fair Organization, hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, was held with a ceremony held in the fair, Izmir. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Özgür Ozan Yılmaz, İzmir Chamber of Commerce Assembly President Selami Özpoyraz, İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Buyer, representatives of non-governmental organizations and guests attended the opening of the fair.

Speaking at the opening, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Özgür Ozan Yılmaz said that the fair, which was held for the first time in 2016, aims to be an international trade fair with the inspiration he received from the transportation projects carried out in our country and the awareness that the knowledge to be created by these projects will be beneficial in the global sense.

Yılmaz said, “The fair is being held with the support and participation of many relevant international institutions. With the fair, national and international investors, contractor companies, international finance providers that create investment opportunities in these projects, public and private sector stakeholders of investments with huge budgets, and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality infrastructure and superstructure investments, creating a synergy with the infrastructure and superstructure projects in our country. and it is aimed to add added value to the city's economy.

Stating that the Transcity Sustainable Transport, Livable Cities Forum will be held simultaneously with the fair, Yılmaz said, “Sustainable urban transportation systems, one of the most important elements of development, will be discussed in every aspect. By examining its economic, environmental and social dimensions, it is also aimed to raise awareness in introducing the latest technology products in urban transportation to the stakeholders and determining the right policies for sustainable urban transportation.”

Member of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Fairs Committee, Chairman of the Board of Ark Fairs, Ali Rıza Koç, stated that they organized this fair for the first time in İzmir and said, “We realized the first of our fair, which we organized for the fifth time, in 2016. This fair is extremely important in terms of following the dynamics of the industry, establishing stronger cooperation foundations for future projects through bilateral meetings with inter-firm relations, and reflecting the level our country has reached in the world. We hosted more than 23 thousand sector representatives, 50 participating countries and 550 companies in our fair, which has made a name for itself in the international community. We fully believe that this year, we will become even stronger and will be a fair where projects are discussed”.

In the fair, which will continue until September 17, and where 50 companies are present, purchasing committees from abroad also come; large-budget investments such as infrastructure, roads, bridges and tunnels meet with visitors. New projects, cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions in the transportation sector are introduced at the fair, which also includes Metro A.Ş., ESHOT and İZDENİZ A.Ş. under the umbrella of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.

This year, the Transcity Sustainable Transportation, Livable Cities Forum is also held at the fair. In the forum; Economic, environmental and social dimensions of sustainable urban transportation systems, one of the most important elements of development, will be examined. Rail Systems Forum, Urban Highways Panel and Sea Route Forum are held for three days with the participation of representatives from the public, municipalities, non-governmental organizations, academia and the private sector. “Sustainability and Localization in Rail Systems” and “İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Rail System Projects” sessions will be held at the Rail Systems Forum to be held on September 15. On September 16, "Sustainable Urban Transportation Systems and Technology-New Normals", "Future of Transportation Projects with Kordsa", "Use of Steel Wire Reinforced Concrete / Underground Structures" sessions will be held at the Urban Highways Panel. On Saturday, September 17, “Urban Sea Transportation Management Policies – Public and Private Sector Cooperation”, “Efficiency in Marine Vehicles, New Generation Energy Systems and Technologies of the Future” and “Transportation in the Gulf from Past to Present” sessions were held at the Maritime Forum on Saturday, September XNUMXth. will be performed.

Bringing together all the parties involved in the planning, project design, implementation and operation of the transportation and infrastructure sector with public institutions and organizations, the fair will also contribute to the improvement of the sector connections, customer relations, sales networks and brand awareness of the participating companies. In the workshop area of ​​the fair, where important infrastructure and superstructure projects of Turkey can be followed closely, presentations about new project launches and innovative solutions will be made.
