Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) demolished the Fish Market, which has been waiting to be renovated for a long time, within the Yenimahalle Wholesale Market and built the “Başkent Districts Terminal” in order to gather the new buildings and district buses in a single center. The opening ceremony of the new Fish Market and Capital Districts Terminal was hosted by ABB President Mansur Yavaş.

In his opening speech, Yavaş emphasized that they only took care of the needs of the city for 3 years and said, “We brought new crossroads, connection roads and green areas to our city. We are operating the process for 33,5 new metro lines with a total length of 4 kilometers. We continue our major infrastructure projects uninterruptedly, while bringing our buses in red to our city, where no new buses have been purchased since 2013. There were no bike paths in this city; Now the number of blue roads is increasing day by day. The Metropolitan Municipality did not have any kindergartens in this city; Now we have opened 17, we will open more. No technology center was built in this city; Now, young people continue their studies in our 3 centers, we are about to complete the fourth one. There was no student subscription in this city, now young people benefit from cheap transportation and provide cheap water supply," he said.

Drawing attention to the problems that may be experienced in food supply and the climate crisis in the future, Yavaş stated that they will also organize Turkey's most comprehensive agricultural program on September 14, and said:

“Because Ankara; We want it to be a city that produces, works and lives. We want it to be a city where young people enjoy and the citizens are happy to live in. There is no strife, mischief, quarrel and separation; We want it to be a city of peace, love, peace and happiness. of the capital; We are working to make it a city of unity, togetherness and solidarity, and we will continue to work.

With our project, which we completed with a cost of approximately 4,5 million liras, we built our terminal building with a capacity of 25 vehicles. Our 4-storey terminal; With its offices, cafeteria, rest room, driver's room and baby care room, it will serve the citizens of the Capital and our shopkeepers.

Reminding that they promised the tradesmen to renovate the Fish Market before the election, Yavaş continued his words as follows:

“We demolished those run-down buildings in April 2021. After completing the tender and contract procedures, we delivered the site in July and started work immediately. We have completed the construction of 10 shops and 275 square meters of cold storage, each of which is 2 square meters and 14 floors, on a land of approximately 235 thousand square meters. The New Fish Market is designed to have cold storages with a capacity of 40 tons of fish in the shops of each of our tradesmen. The new and modern fish market, which we completed with a cost of 24 million 67 thousand liras, suits our Ankara very well. I would like to call out to all my fellow countrymen from here: Ankara is in the heart of our country. Fish flow here every day from all four of our seas, because we are at the point of the fastest shipping. That's why we say, please eat fish for your health, eat more if you are in Ankara. Because the freshest fish is eaten in Ankara.”

10 shops and a 14 square meter cold storage room were built on a plot of approximately 235 thousand square meters in Yenimahalle Wholesale Market. In addition, the shops have their own cold storages to keep the fish fresh until the moment of sale, while a parking lot for 1 vehicles is located in the area. The fish market, which was demolished in April 46 and started to be rebuilt in July, was completed at a cost of 2021 million 24 thousand TL. “Baskent Districts Terminal” was built in order to prevent traffic congestion caused by busses serving outer districts such as Beypazarı, Nallıhan and Ayaş by loading and unloading on streets and streets.

The terminal building, with a total cost of 4 million 477 thousand TL, consists of a total of 4 floors, including the basement, ground floor, mezzanine and terrace floor. In the building, which was built considering the needs of bus drivers and citizens; There are offices, cafeteria area, toilets, rest room for drivers, prayer room for men and women, baby care room.
