Opinion has been released about actor İlyas Salman, who was prosecuted with a prison sentence of up to 2 years for allegedly using derogatory expressions against the Turkish nation on his social media account. In the opinion, Salman was asked to be imprisoned from 6 months to 2 years for the crime of 'Humiliating the Turkish Nation' due to his rhetoric as 'stupid people'.
While the defendant İlyas Salman did not attend the hearing at the Anadolu 54th Criminal Court of First Instance, his lawyer Özgür Murat was present in the Great Hall.
The public prosecutor announced his opinion on the merits.
