İGA Istanbul Airport Was Deserved of the 'Corporate Award'

IGA Istanbul Airport, which was selected as the “Airport of the Year” twice by the Regional Air Transport Awards, was awarded the “Corporate Award” this time. Continuing to raise the chest of both Turkey and the Turkish aviation industry with the global awards it has received recently, IGA Istanbul Airport has added a new one to its awards.

IGA Istanbul Airport, one of the most prestigious airports in the world, was deemed worthy of another award at the Regional Air Transport Awards, one of the leading publications of the global aviation industry. IGA Istanbul Airport, which was selected as the “Airport of the Year” by the Regional Air Transport Awards in 2021 and 2022, this time achieved the success of reaching the “Corporate Award at the 2022 Regional Air Transport Awards”.

The award ceremony where IGA Istanbul Airport was deemed worthy of the “Corporate Award” was held in Cluj, Romania on Friday, September 9th. After his speech at the panel, the “Corporate Award” was presented to IGA Istanbul Airport CEO Kadri Samsunlu.

More than 4 readers and leading executives of the aviation industry participated in the voting, which was held with the opinion of aviation authorities, and the winners are determined by voting. Singapore Changi, Dubai, Lisbon and Doha airports are among the winners of the competition in the past years. İGA Istanbul Airport is the second airport to be selected as the “Airport of the Year” in a row after Singapore Changi Airport.

While the “Air Transport Awards” awards are organized every year in partnership with Hermes – Air Transport Organization, ATN (Air Transport News) and ALA (America Latina Aeronoticias), Airports Council International (ACI), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association. Leading aviation industry organizations such as (IATA) also serve on the selection committee.

Every year, voting is carried out for Air Transport News by those who are experts in airports around the world, whose opinions are sought on travel, and who express their views on matters such as travel and accommodation.
