Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, stated that they are counting down the hours, not the days, for the opening of the Pendik-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Subway, which has the capacity to serve 1 million 200 thousand passengers per day and has a speed of 80 kilometers, and said, “The travel time between Pendik-Sabiha Gökçen Airport will decrease to 10 minutes. With our projects, we equip Istanbul with modern rail system networks.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made inspections on the Pendik - Tavşantepe - Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro Line, which will be opened on Sunday, October 2, with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Making a statement after the examination, Karaismailoğlu said, “We have 2 days left to present to our people another very important investment that Turkey has made for the future, at a time when production and investments in the world have almost stopped due to reasons such as pandemics, wars and conflicts. We are experiencing the excitement, happiness and pride of bringing this magnificent project to Istanbul, to Istanbulites.”

Karaismailoğlu said, “12 kilometers of urban rail system lines are under operation in 811,4 provinces across our country,” and added, “We continue to equip Istanbul, one of the largest metropolises in the world, with modern rail system networks. As of the moment in Istanbul; Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-Eyüp-Istanbul Airport, Başakşehir-Pine Sakura-Kayaşehir, Halkalı- Başakşehir-Arnavutköy-Istanbul Airport, Altunizade-Ferah Mahallesi-Çamlıca Mosque-Bosna Boulevard Rail System Project, Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Rail System and Pedestrian Oriented New Generation Transportation Project, Bakırköy-Bahcelievler-Güngoren-Kirazlı Metro Line to be opened together on Sunday. and we are working 103,3/7 for Istanbul on 7 lines of exactly 24 kilometers, including the Pendik- Tavşantepe-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro Line, which we will proudly build. Later, we will inaugurate our Başakşehir - Kayaşehir Metro Line, which also passes through Başakşehir-Pine and Sakura City Hospital. Then we will open other metro lines one by one.”
