Stating that they have completed the 'Iron Silk Road' from Beijing to London, Karaismailoğlu said that while connecting the world to Turkey, they continue to work on the development of urban rail systems as well as international and intercity projects. Karaismailoğlu said, "Marmaray in Istanbul, Başkentray in Ankara and Izban in Izmir are the work of the AK Party," and that they just carried out a very successful test drive in Gaziray, one of the most important transportation projects in Gaziantep.

THE CONSTRUCTION OF URBAN RAIL SYSTEM LINE WITH A TOTAL OF 161 KILOMETERS

Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “We also examined the works on the route, at the stops and at Gaziantep Station. Gaziray Project, the construction of which was started by our ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, will be one of our important urban rail system projects. The most important way to eliminate the traffic problem, especially in our big cities in parallel with the increasing population and number of vehicles, is to expand the rail systems. To date, 12 kilometers of the 811 kilometers of urban rail lines under operation in 312 provinces across our country have been built by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. Currently, the construction of a total of 13 kilometers of urban rail system continues in 161 projects under construction by our Ministry.

Noting that the works on the 7 kilometer metro line consisting of 103 lines in Istanbul continue rapidly, Karaismailoğlu said that this year, Pendik (Tavşantepe)-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro Line, Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-İstanbul Airport Metro Line, Başakşehir-Çam Sakura-Kayaşehir Metro lines have been completed and put into service. underlined that they will open. He stated that while 7 different projects are continuing in Istanbul, the works on Gaziray projects in Kocaeli, Ankara, Konya, Kayseri, Bursa and Gaziantep are continuing in a planned and rapid manner.

OUR VEHICLES TO BE USED IN GAZIRAY DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL

Pointing out that one of those exemplary projects is Gaziray, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “The Gaziray project was developed with the cooperation of our TCDD General Directorate and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of the development of the urban rail system network. With a giant investment of approximately 5 billion liras, we will connect the city center of Gaziantep and two industrial zones, and give a breath of fresh air to urban traffic. Within the scope of the project, we built 25,5 lines of electrified and signaled railway lines, 2 high-speed train lines and 2 suburban lines, on a route of 4 kilometers. We built 16 stations, 5,5 cut-and-cover tunnels with a total length of 2 kilometers, 1 bridge, 12 under / overpasses and 26 culverts. In addition, the Electric Train Sets to be used in Gaziray are produced by TÜRASAŞ, the largest representative of the rail systems sector in our country. The fact that our vehicles to be used in Gaziray are domestic and national is another source of joy and pride. We continue the test drives in our project and are in the final stage of the certification process. We had a very successful test drive. Today, we will leave Gaziantep to meet at the opening of our line and when we come to Gaziantep shortly, we will come to put Gaziray into service”.

WE INVESTED OVER 20 BILLION LIRA IN GAZIANTEP'S TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE

Noting that the works in Gaziantep are not limited to the Gaziray project, Karaismailoğlu gave the following information about the investments made in Gaziantep:

“As the Ministry, we have invested more than 20 billion liras in Gaziantep's transportation and communication infrastructure in the last 20 years. We continue our planned investments. from Istanbul, Ankara and Konya; To provide high-speed train transportation to the provinces of Karaman-Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye and Gaziantep; We planned the Konya-Karaman-Niğde (Ulukışla)- Mersin (Yenice)-Adana high-speed rail and Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep high-speed rail projects. The distance between Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep high-speed railway project and Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep, which is currently 361 kilometers, will decrease to 312,5 kilometers with the completion of the project, and the travel time will be reduced to 2 hours and 15 minutes. Again, we have built and put into service the new airport terminal building, which will befit Gaziantep and meet the needs of the age and the city. As you know, the number of passengers using the airline increased many times over, as did Gaziantep's trade volume and exports. With the new terminal building, the annual passenger capacity increased from 2,5 million to 6 million, the aircraft capacity increased to 18, and the car park capacity increased from 585 to 2 thousand 49.
