Explaining that the Fethiye Underwater Historical Park project, prepared by the Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FTSO) to revive diving tourism in the region, continues, FTSO Chairman of the Board Osman Çıralı said that the allegations in some channels regarding the project are completely untrue.

Making a statement about the allegations that FTSO's “Fethiye Underwater History Park” project was not followed and permissions could not be obtained, FTSO President Osman Çıralı said, “Our project, which was entitled to receive 1 million TL grant support from GEKA, continues in due time with our partners and participating institutions. The changes requested by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change are being made in the project, and thanks to the project carried out with the support of our Governor, our region will become an attraction point for diving tourism.” said. Çıralı continued as follows: “Those who target me as the President of FTSO are damaging the reputation of our Chamber with false news and slanders. Both our members and respected Fethiye residents are aware of the truth and why these slanders were thrown. Those who slander the projects and works of our chamber should know that they will never achieve their goals. We will never allow the reputation of our chamber to be tarnished.”

Fethiye Underwater History Park project of Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which aims to increase the annual number of dives, which was 1990 dives in the 2000s-100.000s but decreased to 20.000 today, is being revised within the framework of the changes requested by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Making a statement on the subject, FTSO President Osman Çıralı stated that it would not be beneficial for anyone to use the subject as a selection material and to defame the activities of the FTSO with the devoted efforts of its employees to develop regional tourism, and gave the following information about the project:

Diving tourism will be revived

“We share the pride of bringing 4 projects to Fethiye and Seydikemer in 9 years with the feasibility and studies meticulously carried out by our FTSO R&D and Project team in order to further increase tourism, trade and exports in our region. One of these projects is the Fethiye Underwater History Park project, which we have prepared with the aim of reviving diving tourism in our region and making our natural wonders a center of attraction for the underwater world.

Our “Fethiye Underwater History Park” project, which is a thematic underwater exhibition, will also benefit the underwater population. Nature-friendly reefs will host tens of thousands of sea creatures. The project will also serve the goal of increasing the number of tourists staying in our region and the average length of stay by spreading tourism over 10 months.

We follow the project with our partners and associates

Fethiye Municipality and IMEAK DTO Fethiye Branch are our project partners in this large-scale project, which was entitled to receive 1 million TL grant support from GEKA. Fethiye District Governorate, Muğla Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Fethiye Underwater Association, TURSAB Western Mediterranean BYK are also participants of the project.

It is normal for the permit processes of such a comprehensive project to take time. The changes requested by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change are being made in the project, and our permit process continues. There is no problem with the duration of the project, and we have the right to additional time.

Together with our FTSO project team, who meticulously prepares every stage of the project, we follow the permit stages meticulously with the Chamber management and our project partners and associates, and we carry out the necessary lobbying works with the support of our Governor at the Ministries and relevant institutions.“
