President Hayrettin Güngör, who participated in the 7th Çağlayancerit Walnut and Culture Festival and the collective opening ceremony, said, “We are putting our Çağlayancerit Walnut Processing and Packaging Facility into service. This facility, which we have brought in with an investment of 7,5 million TL, is good luck to our city and district. Hopefully, with this investment, Çağlayancerit Walnut will become a brand, and our farmers will process and sell what they produce themselves.”
Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Hayrettin Güngör attended the 7th Çağlayancerit Walnut and Culture Festival and the collective opening ceremony. To the program; Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişci, Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun, Chairman of the Parliamentary Internal Affairs Committee Celalettin Güvenç, MHP Deputy Chairman Sadir Durmaz, deputies, district mayors, party organizations, protocol members and a large number of citizens also participated. Çağlayancerit Mayor Hanifi Sarıaltun, who made the opening speech of the program, which started with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, wished the festival and the investments made to be beneficial.

Speaking at the event, Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Hayrettin Güngör said, “Thank God, we have made an investment of 3,5 billion TL in 3,3 years in our city. Here, we carry out these works in unity and solidarity with our ministers, deputies, mayors and provincial heads. We have invested 100 million TL in our district of Çağlayancerit so far. in Kahramanmaraş; very special products are grown that integrate with nature, air conditioning, air and sun. One of them is our Çağlayancerit Walnut, which has a Geographical Indication. We worked together to increase the added value of this. Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to our ministers. We are putting our Çağlayancerit Walnut Processing and Packaging Facility into service. This facility, which we have brought in with an investment of 7,5 million TL, will be beneficial to our city and district.”
2 Heralded New Investment
In the continuation of his speech, President Güngör gave the good news about both investments, “We have secured the financing of Helete's water and sewerage and our center for both water and treatment. Tender processes have started. Hopefully, by investing approximately 100 million TL in the next year, we will have solved this problem for a hundred years. We also have a square project in this cute town. We brought it to the implementation stage. Hopefully, by putting this into practice, we will increase the attractiveness of this district even more.” Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun and Chairman of the Parliamentary Internal Affairs Committee Celalettin Güvenç underlined the importance of the facility for the district in their speeches.

In his speech, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said, "We, under the leadership of our President, have been trying to say "How can we take Turkey one step further, how can we raise it to the level of contemporary civilizations, how can we introduce this beloved nation with the best opportunities and the most beautiful services" and we are in the cause of this. . We constantly come together with our local stakeholders to invest in whatever city or county needs in this country. Today, we are inaugurating the investments made in our district with the support of our ministries and municipalities. As the Ministry, we have provided and will continue to provide all necessary support for Kahramanmaraş and its districts. We have built a Walnut Processing and Packaging Facility in our district so that our farmers and producers can obtain more value-added products. We will continue to provide these services. I wish the festival and the facilities to be beneficial for our district," he said.
Investment to Provide Rural Development
Noting that the facility will bring about a serious branding in the district, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişci said, “As we are in pursuit of self-sufficiency as countries, we have to be self-sufficient as cities. Regarding agriculture, we define it as 'urban agriculture'. It is essential that the essential needs of this city be produced on the territory of this city. Çağlayancerit is actually trying to do just that. Just as water is kept where it falls, people also need to make a living in the land where they were born. This is called rural development. I hope it will be supported and will continue to be supported by us in both plant production and animal production, especially walnuts. Kahramanmaraş is a province within the scope of ARDSI, but we did not limit it to 42 provinces, but increased the number to 81. I hope we will make positive discrimination for our districts like Çağlayancerit that need these supports. After the opening speeches, the delegation, which cut the ribbon for the collective opening ceremony, visited the stands opened in the festival area.
