Automobile and Light Commercial Vehicle Sales Decreased in August

According to the data published by the Automotive Distributors Association (ODD), in August 2022, the automobile and light commercial vehicle market contracted by 7,4% monthly, and decreased by 17,3% compared to the same month of the previous year, to 48.336. Since the beginning of the year, the automotive and light commercial market has contracted by 8% to 458.446 units.

In August 2022, sales of domestic automobiles and light commercial vehicles decreased by 26,6% month on month and decreased by 31,9% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 18.235. Since the beginning of the year, domestic automobile sales decreased by 8% to 198.561 units. While the sales of imported automobiles and light commercial vehicles increased by 10,0% monthly, they decreased by 5,0% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 30.101. Since the beginning of the year, imported automobile sales decreased by 9% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 259.885.

In August 2022, automobile sales decreased by 14,1% month on month and decreased by 21,3% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 35.230. Since the beginning of the year, the automobile market has decreased by 9% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 354.543. While light commercial vehicle sales increased by 17,3% monthly, they decreased by 4,3% compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 13.106 units. Since the beginning of the year, the light commercial vehicle market has contracted by 5% annually to 103.903.
