Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which has signed many projects to facilitate the life of disabled people, continues to repair battery and manual wheelchairs of disabled citizens free of charge with its Wheelchair and Maintenance and Repair Workshop. In the workshop, which started to serve in 2020, 940 battery and manual wheelchairs have been maintained and repaired so far.

In line with its goal of 'Accessible Capital', Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its practices that facilitate the lives of disabled citizens living in the Capital.

In the 'Wheelchair and Maintenance and Repair Workshop', which is affiliated to the Disabled and Rehabilitation Branch Directorate serving within the Social Services Department and serving to meet the needs of disabled citizens living in Ankara, the maintenance and repair of battery powered and manual wheelchairs of disabled citizens are carried out.

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SERVICE IS DONE FREE OF CHARGE

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has provided free batteries, wheels, brakes, body care, oil control and engine brain to the power chairs of the disabled citizens in the Wheelchair and Maintenance Repair Workshop, which was opened in July 2020, taking into account the needs of disabled citizens using battery and manual wheelchairs. It does the cleaning for free.

Mehmet Bağdat, ABB Disabled and Rehabilitation Branch Manager, shared the following information about the service provided:

“In our workshop, which became operational in 2020, maintenance and repair of 940 electric and manual wheelchairs was carried out. Our service is completely free. Our services such as brake, oil maintenance, battery control continue.”

Naim Taşdizen, who came to the 'Wheelchair and Maintenance and Repair Workshop' of the Metropolitan Municipality and benefited from the service, said, “I receive service from the workshop and I am very satisfied. Thank you to those who implemented this application. My wheels broke, I came here and they did. "If it wasn't for this service, I would have to change my chair," he said.
