In the fierce struggle of 80 wrestler bulls, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor's Cup was won by "Butcher Bey" from Denizli, while "Cumali Reis" came first in the head wrestling fight.
Tens of thousands of citizens experienced the excitement of "Metropolitan Bullfights"
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality organized the Denizli Metropolitan Bullfights for the first time in the city in order to keep the bullfights, an important tradition of the nomadic culture, alive and to pass it on to future generations. Wrestling lovers from Denizli and surrounding cities flocked to this special organization to the program, which was held at the Metropolitan Municipality Traditional Turkish Sports Games Complex. AK Party Denizli Deputies Cahit Özkan and Nilgün Ök, Metropolitan Mayor Osman Zolan, AK Party Denizli Provincial President Yücel Güngör, Pamukkale Mayor Avni Örki, guests and tens of thousands of citizens attended the event. Greeting the audience, which filled the stands, Mayor Zolan met with intense interest of the citizens. In addition to Denizli, the fierce struggle of 80 wrestler bulls from the surrounding provinces, especially from Aydın, Muğla, İzmir and Artvin, was breathtaking. Women and children also showed great interest in the program.
Metropolitan Denizli realizes the firsts
Mayor Zolan, in his speech here, said that they were happy for the interest and participation of their fellow countrymen in the bullfights, where they achieved another first in Denizli. Mayor Osman Zolan continued his speech as follows: “We have held camel wrestling, mounted javelin and archery competitions, oil wrestling in our Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Traditional Turkish Sports Games Complex. Today, bull fights were started in Denizli for the first time. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your intense interest and the love and enthusiasm you have shown.”

Stating that as Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, they will continue to work in line with the needs and wishes of the people, Mayor Zolan said, “It is good that we are together. While the owner of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Cup was “Butcher Bey” from Denizli, the bull named “Cumali Reis” won the wrestling fight.
