Support Amounts Within the Scope of Turkey Family Support Program Increased

Yanik, Minister of Family and Social Services, shared the details of the new social aid package announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Minister Derya Yanık stated that they have expanded the scope of the Turkey Family Support Program and said, “We continue to share the prosperity of our growing and developing Turkey with our citizens with the Turkey Family Support Program. In order for more of our citizens to benefit from our program, we are expanding our program by adding 15 billion TL to our current budget of 25 billion TL. Accordingly, we are increasing our support amount from 450 TL – 600 TL to 850 TL – 1.250 TL.”

Stating that they have established a strong supply-oriented social aid system with a perspective that prioritizes social welfare sharing, Minister Yanık said, "We have always prioritized the distribution of our resources for the benefit of all segments of society and we are working in this direction."

Noting that the work to expand the scope and increase the effectiveness of the Turkey Family Support Program has been completed, Minister Yanık said:

“We continue to offer our support to protect our families in need from global economic fluctuations. With the Turkey Family Support Program, we continue to share the prosperity of our growing and developing Turkey with our citizens. In order for more of our citizens to benefit from our program, we are expanding our program by adding 15 billion TL to our current budget of 25 billion TL. Accordingly, we are increasing our support amount from 450 TL to 600 TL to 850 TL to 1.250 TL.”

Implementing the “Child Support Component”

Noting that they will provide additional support for children in families benefiting from social assistance, Minister Yanık stated that they will provide support in the range of 350 TL to 650 TL per month, depending on the number of children in the households within the scope of the "Child Support Component". Minister Yanık said, "In this context, we will provide an additional support of 1 TL to households with 2-350 children, 3 TL to households with 450 children, 4 TL to households with 550 children, and 5 TL to households with 650 or more children."

Informing that households benefiting from Turkey Family Support will also benefit from Electricity Consumption Support, Minister Yanık said, “We have completed all our efforts to provide ETD to households whose applications were accepted to the program but could not receive Electricity Consumption Support (ETD). In this direction, electricity consumption support for 1-2 person households in the equivalent of 75 kW (108 TL), electricity consumption support for 3-person households in the equivalent of 100 kW (144 TL), electricity consumption support for 4-person households in the equivalent of 125 kW (180 TL) and for the population of 5 and more. We will provide electricity consumption support (150 TL) equivalent to 216 kW to the households that own them.”

Minister Yanik reminded that citizens who want to benefit from the Turkey Family Support Program can apply via e-Government and Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations (SYDV) and emphasized that the new amounts will be reflected in their November payments.

Amount Increased in Natural Gas Consumption Support

Minister Yanık informed that they have made important arrangements in the Natural Gas Consumption Support, which was implemented this year in order to support the heating expenses of the citizens in need within the new social aid package.

In this context, Minister Yanık stated that they aim to provide a support of 3 billion TL in Natural Gas Consumption Support and said, “We increased our support amounts for the winter period of 2022. We have increased the amount of aid, which varies from province to province, between 450 TL and 1.150 TL per year for our rightful citizens, to between 900 TL and 2.500 TL," he said.

Reminding that they started to receive applications for the said support program for the winter period of 2022 through e-government as of the first week of September, Minister Yanık said, "We offer the opportunity to benefit from natural gas support not only to the landlords but also to all our social assistance beneficiaries who are tenants in the new application period." he said.

5 percent additional payment will be made to chronic patients with a health report

Stating that they will make additional payments to chronic patients with a health report or to citizens who continue their lives depending on the device, Minister Yanık said, “Our citizens will have to process their disease report into the system during their application. We will pay 5 percent more to the households where our patients live, in addition to the amount of support we have determined.”

Budget of Social Aid Items with Amount Increases Increased to 11,5 Billion TL

Noting that they have also increased the amount of support provided to families benefiting from regular social assistance within the new social assistance package announced, Minister Yanık said, “We have achieved high increases in the amounts of our assistance program. In 2022, we increased our budget of 6 billion TL, which we set aside for our aid programs, to 11,5 billion TL annually.”

Minister Yanık shared the details of the increased social assistance as follows:

“We increased the prefabricated house construction aid from 40 thousand TL to 150 thousand TL, the home repair aid from 25 thousand TL to 75 thousand TL, the reinforced concrete house construction aid from 70 thousand TL to 200 thousand TL. In addition, we increased the amount of 150 TL we gave under the Conditional Birth Assistance Program to 500 TL, Multiple Birth Assistance from 215 TL to 400 TL, and Conditional Health Assistance from 55 TL to 100 TL.”

Minister Yanık informed that they have increased the amount of support from 300 TL in Orphan Aid to 600 TL, and the Regular Cash Aid for Widowed Women from 500 TL to 1.000 TL.
