Steel Beams are Prepared for Installation on Kuruçeşme Tram Line

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, which facilitates the lives of citizens by realizing many large projects in transportation, continues to work intensively on the Izmit Kuruçeşme Tram Line Project. In this context, steel beams that will provide the transition in the new tram line project that will connect the Akçaray Tram Line to Kuruçeşme via D-100 are being prepared for assembly. Steel beams assembled on the ground will be placed on the feet step by step.

BEAMS WILL BE PLACED ON THE FEET

332 pieces of 250-meter-long steel beams will provide the connection between the feet of the 12-meter-long bridge, which will provide the passage on the Akçaray tram line that will extend to Kuruçeşme. Within the scope of the project, all pier fabrications of the 290 m long 9 pier and 8 span bridge have been completed. The teams of the Department of Science Affairs are currently assembling the steel beams on the ground. These assembled beams will be placed on the bridge piers. In addition, the Metropolitan teams carry out road excavation and PMT laying of the side roads within the scope of the project. After a short time, the first stage asphalt paving of the side roads will be done.

2 NEW PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS CONSTRUCTED

Within the scope of the project, two new modern pedestrian overpasses built in front of the private hospital and Izmit High School at the entrance of Kuruçeşme were completed and put into service. The pedestrian overpass built in front of the private hospital has a length of 59 meters, and the pedestrian overpass built in front of the Izmit High School has a length of 52 meters.

AKÇARAY TRAM LINE TO BE EXTENDED

The tram, which has become one of the indispensable means of transportation for Kocaeli residents, will reach a double line of 10 thousand 212 meters with its new line. With the 3-kilometer single-line warehouse area, the single-line length of the tram will increase to 23,4 kilometers, and the number of stops will increase to 16 with Kuruçeşme station. With the project, which will add convenience and comfort to the lives of citizens, access to the center of Izmit, Sekapark and the bus station will be faster.
