President Soyer Visited IzTransformation Facility

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer visited the İzTransformation facility, which was established to sort packaging waste. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, who continues his work with the goal of a sustainable city Tunç Soyer, visited the IzTransformation facility established by IzDoga to sort packaging waste. Minister Tunç Soyer He received technical information about the facility and examined the packaging waste sorting track with a daily capacity of 420 tons.

Stating that this facility, which is a first in İzmir, has historical importance, President Soyer said, “We have taken the step that will initiate a great transformation. In fact, it's not just your garbage; transformation of life. There are citizens trying to survive by mixing garbage on the street under very difficult conditions. By providing employment to those citizens, we have provided them with the opportunity to work in more humane conditions. They will have worked under much more hygienic conditions in a system with certain insurance, working hours and permits.”

“I hope the project will inspire Turkey”

Stating that 800 waste bins were placed in four districts at the first stage and that approximately 250 tons of waste per day will be compressed and made available for sale, President Soyer said: “Thanks to the project, we will also provide commercial profit. Our facility will start operating at full capacity at the end of September. We are very excited and proud. We are very happy to be initiating such a great transformation in Izmir. This project, which we started in four districts of Izmir, will first spread to the whole of Izmir, and then I hope it will inspire Turkey.”

After the visit, President Soyer also met with the team collecting waste within the scope of the project. sohbet he did. The fact that the number of our female and male employees is very close to each other makes me very happy in terms of equality. I am very hopeful about the project, we are currently collecting waste from four districts, the amount of waste will increase when schools are opened, and I am very excited for the days when the project will spread throughout İzmir.” she said.

Teams within the scope of IzTransformation project Karşıyaka, Karabağlar, Buca and Narlıdere, in the first stage, collects packaging waste from 4 districts and transmits them to the project's packaging waste sorting facility in Konak. Packaging wastes delivered to the facility, which will start operating at full capacity at the end of September, will be separated and included in the recycling ring.
