Gebze Darıca Metro Line, whose works were started by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and then transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, will facilitate the transportation of citizens living in the region when completed. Secretary General Balamir Gündoğdu, who closely follows many ongoing projects throughout the city, went down to the tunnel in the metro project and examined the works on site.
TUNNEL EXCAVATION GOES TO THE CONTINUING REGION
Secretary General Gündoğdu, who closely follows many projects throughout the city, entered the tunnel from the Darıca Beach Metro Construction Site in Darıca Dudayev Beach Park, where all security measures are taken, and went to the Farabi Station area where excavations continue. Secretary General Gündoğdu, who received information about the project from the technical personnel, was also informed about the TBM machine that excavates the tunnel. Making statements after his examination, Secretary General Gündoğdu emphasized that as Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, they attach importance to the Gebze region in terms of facilities and other investments. Gündoğdu said, “As it is known, our Gebze region receives daily immigration from the Istanbul region, especially for work, apart from its own population. Our Gebze-Darica Metro is being built in order to ease the traffic in this region. When our project is realized, the traffic of Gebze will be relieved with the axis between Darıca Beach, Gebze Center and OIZs.”
