Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu announced that more than 455 thousand vehicles passed through the Eurasia Tunnel last week and said, “On September 8, we broke a daily vehicle pass record of 67 thousand 982 vehicles. With the Eurasia Tunnel, which is among our mega projects, we breathe life into Istanbul traffic and provide our citizens with safe and fast travel opportunities.”
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a written statement about the Eurasia Tunnel. Stating that the Eurasia Tunnel is among the mega projects of the Ministry, Karaismailoğlu noted that the tunnel both relieves Istanbul traffic and contributes to the economy.
LAST WEEK, AVERAGE 65 VEHICLES PASSED THROUGH THE TUNNEL
Karaismailoğlu stated that the Eurasia Tunnel, which was put into service on December 22, 2016, reduced the journey time between the continents of Asia and Europe to 5 minutes, and that a total of 5 thousand 11 vehicles passed through the Eurasia Tunnel between September 455 and September 746. Emphasizing that an average of 65 thousand 107 vehicles preferred to pass through the tunnel last week, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu announced that a daily vehicle pass record was broken with 8 thousand 67 vehicles on 982 September.
Pointing out that the Eurasia Tunnel has also started to serve motorcycle drivers as of May 1, Karaismailoğlu stated that a total of 122 thousand 441 motorcycle drivers use the tunnel.
Explaining that a total of 2016 million 90 thousand vehicles have passed through the Eurasia Tunnel since 804, Karaismailoğlu said, “Our investments in every mode of transportation in Istanbul continue without slowing down. While we ease the traffic in Istanbul with the investments we make, we provide fast, safe and comfortable transportation for our citizens. We spend our time, our energy, our minds and our thoughts only on our nation,” he said.
