It was stated that the energy consumed by SNCF, the railway company of the French State, in its fleet of 1000 High Speed Train and 14 thousand Regional Express Transport per day, corresponds to 1 to 2 percent of the annual electricity consumption of France. However, it was pointed out that this rate is more than the annual electricity consumption of the capital Paris and Marseille.

While the French government announced the electricity and natural gas support package, it started blackout in cities. However, some schools in the Normandy region will start burning wood to save natural gas for heating.
According to another planned austerity measure, billboards with their lights on at night will be closed, and people will be able to go to work by using a shared car.
