Alstom Appoints Ming Geng as China General Manager

On September 1, 2022, Alstom appointed Ming Geng as Managing Director of China, effective from the day of his appointment. Based in Beijing, China, Ming will be responsible for the execution of the Alstom in Motion strategy in China and the commercial and operational performance of the cluster.

Ming Geng brings over 23 years of long and successful experience in the rail industry. He started his career as a Fleet Operations and Maintenance Engineer at Guangzhou Metro Corporation in 1999. Since 2003, he has held different roles for the project management department as Rolling Stock Project Manager and Head of Rolling Stock. After that, Ming joined TÜEV Rheinland Greater China as the General Manager of the Guided Transportation Systems and Aviation Technology Business Unit. During his 14 years at Siemens Mobility, Ming was head of Rail Vehicles of Siemens Mobility Greater China's Business Unit for 10 years. In parallel, he served as Chairman and CEO of Siemens Mobility Equipment (China) Limited from 2019 to 2022.

Joining Alstom in March 2022, Ming Geng assumed the positions of Director of Systems, APM and Monorail China and General Manager of JV PATS (CRRC Puzhen Alstom Transportation Systems Limited). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Automation and a Master of Business Administration.
