'Noise Barrier' Is Being Built in Konya to Reduce Noise from Transportation

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that the noise barrier projects they prepared for the Konya Justice Palace, Konya City Hospital and the schools area were approved by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and first of all, a 5,5 meter high and 236 meter long noise barrier was installed in front of the Courthouse. He said they have completed the construction.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality is working on noise barriers together with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in order to reduce the noise caused by transportation.

Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay said that as a municipality, they are the first and only municipality in Turkey to create a Strategic Noise Map and Action Plan by their own personnel.

Noting that the noise barrier projects they prepared for the Konya Justice Palace, Konya City Hospital and schools area on Adana Ring Road Street, which they determined as the hot zone within the scope of Environmental Noise Action Plans, were approved by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, President Altay said, “Our Ministry and İLBANK Within the scope of the work we started with the 50 grant, we completed the construction of a 5,5-meter-high, 236-meter-long noise barrier to reduce the noise level in the Courthouse. Our project work continues for Konya City Hospital, the school district and the areas that meet the criteria. It's good for our city." said.
