Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu stated in the program that Ankara Train Station, where humanitarian aid materials are sent to oppressed geographies, stands out as the “Goodness Station”.

Stating that Turkey was mobilized for the flood disaster in Pakistan, Soylu said that one third of Pakistan was under water due to the flood, 33 million people were directly affected by the flood, 1391 Pakistanis lost their lives so far, 600 thousand houses were completely destroyed, 1 million 300 thousand He noted that the house was also partially damaged.

Pointing out that the Turkish nation does not leave the nations in difficult situations alone wherever they are in the world, Soylu said that Turkey has been the country that has provided the highest humanitarian aid in the world according to its national income in the last 4 years.

Reminding that 12 planes and 3 trains loaded with humanitarian aid have gone to Pakistan so far, Soylu said that they will take the fourth train today and the fifth train will depart from Mersin on Tuesday, September 13.

Noting that 50 thousand tents are planned to be sent to Pakistan, Soylu said, “So far, 20 thousand tents, 47 thousand 631 parcels of food and cleaning materials, 38 thousand 800 blankets, 586 thousand 572 units of medical supplies and medicines and 50 boats have been sent from our Ministry of Health.” said.

“A Friend Appears in Difficult Days”

Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin, on the other hand, stated that the friend will be revealed in difficult times, and said that Turkey has once again shown its friendship to Pakistan, where the flood disaster was experienced, with the aid materials it will send today.

TCDD Transportation General Manager Ufuk Yalçın stated that they delivered the aid materials brought together with the cooperation of AFAD Presidency and non-governmental organizations to Afghanistan and Pakistan with “Goodness Trains”.

Yalçın continued his words as follows: “Today, we are saying goodbye to our 33th Goodness Train, which carries 22 tons of emergency aid materials in 498 wagons that our more than 4 million Pakistani brothers needed due to the flood disaster. Our Pakistan Kindness Train will arrive at Iran's Zahedan Station from Turkey in 8 days, and the aid materials will be delivered to those in need in Pakistan with the transfer to be made here. Turkey stands by the oppressed and aggrieved peoples from the Middle East to Asia, from Africa to Europe. It is impossible to forget the support and blessings of the friendly and brotherly people of Pakistan, who did not leave the Turkish Nation alone in the most difficult days of our Independence Struggle. Today, our Nation does not leave our Pakistani brothers, who have had a hard time due to the flood, trying to heal their wounds, and is trying to deliver their urgent needs. We sent 3 tons of humanitarian aid to our Pakistani brothers, with a total of 82 wagons, with the first 1373 trains. Today, we are saying goodbye to our fourth 'Goodness Train', which carries 22 tons of emergency supplies in 539 wagons.”

AFAD President Yunus Sezer also stated that the “Goodness Train”, the first of which was sent 2 weeks ago, is planned to reach Pakistan tomorrow, and expressed that they are happy to deliver aid to oppressed geographies.
