“We aim to make consumers feel technology, silence and environmentalism by trying electric cars”

TEHAD President Berkan Bayram, who gave information about the event they organized to coincide with September 9, which is celebrated as the day of electric vehicles worldwide every year, said, “The industry is evolving towards electric mobility. Every year, we celebrate the day of electric vehicles with a special event to raise awareness in this direction. Although we talk about the benefits of electric cars, we are organizing this event because we believe that you cannot have an idea without experiencing this experience. We aim to make consumers feel technology, silence and environmentalism by trying electric cars. We also broke new ground in the Electric and Hybrid Driving Week, which we organized for the third time this year. With the launch of many new vehicles in Turkey, we have determined the Electric Car of the Year Award for the first time this year by public vote. Among the 7 finalists, SKYWELL ET5 won the “Electric Car of the Year 2122 Award” by receiving 35 percent of the votes in the voting, attended by 2022 people.

“We aim for zero carbon emissions in our fleet by 2030”

Talking about the 2030 plans of LeasePlan, the main sponsor of Electric and Hybrid Driving Week, one of the world's largest car rental companies, LeasePlan Turkey General Manager Türkay Oktay said, “Unfortunately, the resources of our world are too limited to keep up with our consumption rate. We all have responsibilities, both individually and institutionally. As Leaseplan, we focus on sustainability for a world that we can leave to our children and grandchildren. We are one of the founding members of the EV2017 initiative, established at the United Nations in 100, and we aim for zero carbon emissions by 2030 in our globally funded fleet. We support this organization, organized under the leadership of Electric Hybrid Cars Magazine and the Turkish Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Association (TEHAD), as we believe that it plays an important role in the spread of environmentally friendly and zero-emission vehicles across the country.
